Yesterday’s trail run meet up with the Fl Fun Running Group was probably one of the most fun runs I ever did. We met up in Loggerhead Park at Juno Beach to run the only nature trail with a constant incline in the Juno Beach area. I have never done anything like it. When I was looking at the trail I have to admit I was a bit skeptical, being a city slicker for most of my life the sight of this trail gave me some major doubts. My imagination started running wild about all the wildlife we could encounter, snakes, spiders you name. But I knew you had to face my fears and doubts if I ever when to be a “Florida Runner”. So after a loud ” Let’s Go” I just started running. We were divided up into different speed groups. I chose a medium speed group. I couldn’t believe how some runners were blazing through this trail. Very inspiring to watch! Don’t ask me what the mileage and my pace was for this run. I had no watch and didn’t turn on my navigator, I was way to engaged and didn’t even care. The trail was very narrow and there was a lot of tugging due to all the tree branches and bushes. The second half of the trail was a sandy area, running down and up a sandy hill. The incline of this sandy area was quite a bit and boy (!) exhausting. We ran this trail for an hour, back and forth. What an awesome workout experience.
Love Florida Running 🙂
