My Running Log for Thanksgiving week 2016.

I’m a few days late with my running log this week because I injured my left index finger pretty bad with a potato peeler when peeling my sweet potatoes. The bandage made typing almost impossible. The cut has been so bad I had to go to an emergency clinic for a Tetanus shot. Luckily I didn’t need any stitches.

For whatever reason every week for the last few weeks I have some kind of new boo-boo ….

The week of any major holiday is usually super busy. I had a signed up for a lot of volunteer work at my kids’ schools in the beginning of the week and when I turned around it was Thanksgiving all of a sudden. I had huge panic though that I probably wouldn’t get my own preparations done, but luckily by the end of the day we all had a delicious meal with some very awesome desserts.

I always put it his type of pressure on myself at first though, it’s something I have been struggling with big time. I pack my to-do list to the max and panic if it doesn’t get done..

I was still struggling with speed work this week as well.

On Friday I had no choice but to visit my doctor for my ongoing sinus infection. Needless to say she prescribed me a course of antibiotics, which helped after the third day tremendously! I was finally able to breath better during my runs.

For whatever reason though I have still been struggling with my pace a lot!!Ā  The weather has also still been quite warm. By the time I’m able to leave the house in the morning it’s already in the 80s. The very early mornings are cooler right now, but I can’t get out this early due to Jim’s schedule. I’m not sure if the humidity and ongoing heat is the culprit or just my stamina right now… I have no idea.

The good thing is that I’m still running, no matter what. Even on the struggling bus. I just keep running and hope that this is just a phase and my running will feel better again soon.

Here is what I ran this week:

Monday: Rest Day

Tuesday: 6 miles around my community. In my notes I wrote how hard it felt to put one foot in front of the other. I rarely ever feel like this when it comes to running…

Wednesday: 4 miles to the beach.

Thursday: 6 miles. Pace 9:24. By far my best run in a while even through it was very hot already by the time I got outside. We spent almost the entire Thanksgiving day outside with the kids and yes, we were starving by the time we got home. It was a loong 3 hour wait for the turkey…but it all tasted great. I was indeed very thankful for having these 3 awesome boys on my table:)

Friday: Rest Day. Even though I wanted to go for a run so bad I wasn’t able to because Jim was working all day. I always love running the day after Thanksgiving because your body had some great fuel!

Saturday: 6 miles around my neighborhood. I was back on the struggle bus but I continued to finish 6 miles.

Sunday: Yoga at my gym in the morning – felt so good! 3 miles on the treadmill.

Weekly Total Mileage: 25 Miles

That’s it my friends. I was thankful for so many things this week, my beautiful family, friends, including my blogging friends, my readers,Ā  running, sunshine and all the simple beautiful things that make life so very special.
