This chocolate treat have the perfect subtle sweetness and an amazing fun crunch factor, thanks to the puffed rice cereal. Who would have thought that “much-healthier” and “much-better-for-you” ingredients would make such an awesome chocolatey treat?
I love the road I have taken of making my own chocolate treats – had I known that it doesn’t take up much of my time and that my sweet tooth is seriously satisfied, I would have jumped on the homemade chocolate wagon much sooner!
I’m not going t keep you with more chocolate talk, instead here are the ingredients to rock this chocolate snack!!
2 cups Chocolate Morsels (if you want to make these bars vegan, then choose dairy-free morsels like these)
2 tsp Coconut Oil
1 Cup Rice Cereal
3/4 shredded Coconut Flakes
How to make them:
Line and 8×8 form with parchment paper.
Add chocolate chips and coconut oil in a saucepan.
Heat on low heat on your stovetop – keep stirring! It’s super important to keep the heat low, so the chocolate doesn’t burn!!
As soon as chocolate mixture is melted, take saucepan off heat and stir a few more times to make the chocolate nice and creamy!
Add puffed rice cereal and coconut flakes to the mixture, mix until well blended.
Pour chocolate mixture into parchment paper lined form and let it set in the fridge for about 2 hours.
When cooled down and chocolate is hard, cut the chocolate into squares, triangles or rectangles.
Since these bars contain coconut oil, keep them in an airtight container inside your fridge. They will be hard, but they get soft with a few minutes after you take them out!
