Holiday Painted Flower Pot & Bird House
When it comes to Arts and Crafts for the Holiday Season red and white are definitely the colors that stand out the most, everybody knows the Santa colors.
In order to create something fun for outdoors I painted flower pots and a little birdhouse in the holiday colors red and white, something colorful and fun.
I love the way they turned out. I love the simplicity in it, and I love the way it presents the Holiday spirit. Sometimes it’s the simplest things that add the most charm. Plus, don’t underestimate the fun and gratitude that comes from creating something yourself.
The red and white painted flower pot adds a fun factor to your holiday decorations and the little red and white bird house has a whimsical charm.
Holiday crafting and decorating doesn’t have to be expensive. All the materials used are very inexpensive. I got the outdoor patio paint at Michael’s Craft Store for about $3 a piece, the flower pots are $1 and the unfinished bird house was $2. I chose outdoor paint over regular paint so the colors will not fade in the outdoors.
With a brush I simply painted the top part of the pot in white and the bottom in red, the same goes for the bird house. After painting it takes about 24 hours for the outdoor paint to dry.
The flower pots look especially great when you plant them with Pine, Hollies or other mini needle trees or branches. The pots, as well as the bird house make a great DIY gift for the holidays. My kids filled the bird house with bird seeds and are hoping birds will come by to use it:)
These Holiday painted flower pots and bird house can also be a great Holiday project for kids, too.
