I’m so happy you are here and can’t wait to look at the Fun, Inspirational and Yummy posts you are sharing with us. I have has so much fun visiting all your links last week and I found so many recipes that were truly inspiring!
I wanted to share my favorite foods from this week with you. Food, that I really enjoyed and that helps me feeling energized and fit for my runs and for a busy day-to-day life!
As a Runner on top of my list will always be the ever classic banana. It’s loaded with a great amount of potassium, and when it comes to running it is the one food I wouldn’t want to miss. Potassium is absolutely essential when it comes to electrolyte balance in your system, and living an active lifestyle you definitely need to replenish your electrolytes after sweating. The banana also delivers the right amount of carbs for recovery and it is the perfect on-the-go snack, that always comes in the right package:). I have at least 1 banana a day, and 2-3 when I train for a marathon.
Avocado is the another favorite. I have really been pumping up my avocado intake. It is quite a nutrient powerhouse and a great source of monounsaturated fatty acids. It’s a fantastic source of potassium, easy to digest and the perfect replenishing food for an active lifestyle. I have used it a lot in my baking recently to replace butter. Tastes super delicious!
Cherry Tart Juice I have found this one at Trader Joe’s this week and I used it as a base for my smoothies. To say it was Yummy is an understatement! The fact that cherry helps inflammation is one of the super pluses this amazing fruit has to offer. As a runner I can only say Cherries all the Way!
Mesclun Salad with Goat Cheese. Barely any day goes by with me not having a salad. It’s my absolute must have food. I just need this raw component in my daily diet in order to feel my best. However, anybody who knows me knows that I’m not a big cheese eater, but I can never really resist a great goat cheese/walnut combination topping my salad. Yum!
