These chocolate chip cookies are really soft and cakey in texture. They are a real treat in our house. My kids love them with a glass of vanilla almond milk. When I have time I will leave the prepared cookie dough in the fridge overnight (in a bowl, covered with plastic wrap), that way the brown sugar will really develop its caramel aroma. Yummy!


How to make chocolate chip cookies:

2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup cane sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 1/4 cups unbleached flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 Fahrenheit.

Beat butter and sugars in a bowl.
Add eggs, vanilla and salt
add flour, baking soda and chocolate chips.

Bake until golden brown, usually 8-10 minutes.
Let them cool on a wire rack and Enjoy!
