Hi. I’m Ilka.
I’m married to my best friend and I am a mom to two little boys, John, four and David almost two years old. We are sharing our house with two pug girls, Emma and Chloe.
I’m a blogger, crafter, chocolate lover & foodie, non-toxic life enthusiast and runner. Becoming a mom is the single best thing in my life. Now, more than ever is the most important time to take care of myself, in order to keep up with the demands of motherhood.
On this blog, I love sharing my favorite healthy recipes for kids and grown-ups, talking about my own struggles I had before eliminating highly processed foods from my diet. All that doesn’t mean I never ever indulge in any fun foods. I could never live without the occasional cakes, the cookies and the ice cream sandwiches – but the quality in the ingredients is what matters to me the most. I love preparing tasty healthy snacks and meals for my family and knowing it comes with a nutritional boost – it makes it even yummier and more enjoyable!
Although I originally intended this blog to be a nutrition/ food blog, I soon realized that as a mom your day requires a ton of organization skills and planning, as well as creative inspirations. Household organization and kids activities are some of my other favorite topics. Always open to new ideas, I hope I can hear some your thoughts on how to get a grip on the chaos in your life or how you keep your kids busy with crafty ideas or other fun activities.
Running is my other passion in life – not sure if I would be the person I am today without it – probably not. It made me a much more positive person, a healthier person, a stronger person and happier person. I hope with this blog, I will be able to bond with other running moms and inspire non -running moms to give running a second consideration.
